We all had a sweet tooth when we were younger, perhaps some of us still do. Remember the good old days of sweet shops, with big jars of multi-coloured goodies? The days when 10 pence was enough to buy you a handful of beautiful treats. A simpler time. Well, let’s not linger in nostalgia, let’s live in the present. Nowadays the chance to purchase sweets which taste good whilst also having health benefits is massively sought after. And with CBD Gummies it may actually be possible. First things first, let’s look at what these things actually are. CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of over 108 chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant, cannabis sativa. CBD and THC are the two most common cannabinoids, as they are the most present in the plant. This is why they are the most recognized and studied. You’ll most likely have heard of both CBD and THC.
CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which has wide effects on the body as a whole. The endocannabinoid system is complex and plays a role in the regulation and balancing of many of the body’s processes. This includes the immune response, metabolism, inflammation response, memory, and more. By stimulating the endocannabinoid system CBD promotes homeostasis. Hemostasis is the process of healing in the body.
Now you might be thinking how it is that products like hemp gummies are legal. Well, unlike THC, CBD does not have any psychoactive properties. Therefore CBD oil or extract is considered safe to use on a daily basis. You can safely consume CBD products (in this case CBD gummy domes) knowing that there will be no euphoric high or mind-altering effects.
Not a lot of people know the true laws on CBD in the UK. So, let’s make it more clear. Hemp-derived CBD products that contain less than 0.3% THC are legal. As previously stated, that is because the usual ‘high’ of marijuana comes from THC. CBD does not have the same after-effects. CBD’s legality was helped when, in 2017, a WHO article highlighted its many health benefits. Overall, CBD does not get you high.
Edibles are a very different way of consuming CBD. Other ways include smoking it, vaping it with a dry herb vaporizer, or rubbing it on your skin. If you inhale CBD it will enter the blood through the lungs, and it is a much quicker process. However, if you ingest CBD through edibles like our CBD gummies, it finds its way into the blood through the stomach. The process is slower because it takes time for your stomach to break it down, but the CBD effects can last longer and more intensely. Our hemp gummy bears contain 5mg of CBD extract per gummy, as well as healthy omega-3-rich flaxseed oil (200mg per gummy). Our gummy domes are also vegan, have no artificial sweeteners, no artificial colours and are palm oil free.
The amount of hemp gummies you take is up to you. Similar to medication, some people may have been advised to take more or less due to health conditions. However, if you’ve just bought them without any medical advice, then we advise that you stick to 1 gummy per day. But if you decide to take more, then we would definitely recommend not taking more than 5 a day.
As previously stated, CBD is not THC. Therefore, if you’re expecting a high you won’t get that. With below 0.3% THC inside the gummies you won’t feel any psychoactive effects. The only effect you may feel is relaxation, which is why hemp gummies have been known to have some positive influences on anxiety and sleep deprivation.
