Dry herb vaporizers are growing in popularity. Due to increasing public awareness of the dangers of smoking, many smokers, both casual and chain, are looking for healthier alternatives. This is the exact reason why vaping has become a popular “thing”.
There are many benefits that come with making the transfer from smoking to vaping. A dry herb vaporizer heats (rather than combusts) dry herbs at the optimal temperature for inhalation. We have a range of three vaporizers the Nectar v2, Nectar Gold and Nectar Platinum. All three dry herb vaporizers have the features necessary to put the in the premium category which are precise temperature control, isolated airflow paths, ceramic chambers, ceramic mouthpieces and no plastic parts. Many dry herb vaporizers use a maximum of 5 preset temperature settings, however with our vaporizers, users can control the temperature in increments of 1°C-5°C. This allows the user to switch between deeper or lighter flavours, depending on their preference.
The Nectar Platinum dry herb vaporizer is really in a league of its own, it uses the largest capacity vape battery available on the market, meaning you get more power when you need it. It can be used with both dry herbs and wax, which can now be made at home using one of our rosin press machines.
If you’re still not yet convinced about dry herb vaporizers, here are some of the major reasons as to why many of the smoking population are switching over to vaping:
Fewer health complications
Discreet way of vaporizing dry herbs
Flexible for use
What are dry herb vaporizers?
Dry herb vaporizers are small, battery-operated devices designed to heat up dry herbs and/or waxes to create vapour for inhalation without combustion and thus avoiding the release of toxins. A small inner chamber in which the dry herb is placed, is heated up. When the inner chamber reaches a certain temperature, the (medical) active components in the dry herbs are released into a vapor, which can then be inhaled. In this way, the terpenes and cannabinoids, or aromatherapy herbs, turn into vapour instead of being combusted.
A dry herb vape can come in the form of a vape pen, portable dry herb vaporizers, as well as desktop vapes that are stationary. Since dry herb vaporizers hold only a small amount of herb, they are best used for single person use, or sharing with one or two people.
How do dry herb vaporizers work?
Dry herb vaporizers heat up dry herbs and/or wax by either the convection or conduction method. Convection works by surrounding the dry herbs with hot air to release their vapour. Unlike with conduction, convection heating has #nocombustion as the herb materials are not touched by the heating element.
Convection heating is efficient and heats the dry herbs more directly than with conduction and there is less half-burnt material left in the chamber as you have with conduction.
Conduction works by applying the heat source directly to the surface of the herbs, and this results in faster heat-up. The reason you can end up with some wastage is that some of the herbs don’t get heated up enough, so you have to stir the herbs around for an even vape.
The convection heating process is slower than conduction but more efficient, and releases all the flavor profiles of your dry herbs. Nectar vaporizers are convection vaporizers, though there is a slight conduction aspect where the herbs touch the sides of the chamber. But for all intents and purposes, they are convection vaporizers, which means you get less wastage and stronger vapours. Other features of Nectar’s dry herb vaporizers include ceramic chambers, precision temperature control, isolated airflow, fast heat-up times and 3-year (free) extendable warranty.
What are concentrates?
Concentrates also known as resins and waxes are a liquid form of dry herbs that are obtained through extraction. Extraction produces highly concentrated oils that can come in the form of wax, shatter or crumble. The Nectar Gold and Nectar Platinum dry herb vaporizers are 2-in-1 – meaning you can use both dry herbs and concentrates like wax – and you can even make your own concentrates and extracts with our rosin press machines.
How do you use a dry herb vaporizer?
To use a dry herb vaporizer follow these steps:
Make sure your herb vaporizer is fully charged. You may need to keep a spare vape battery handy for when the battery needs replacing.
Most herb vaporizers need the herb to be ground to a fine or medium level using a herb grinder. Although some convection devices may allow you to vape with larger herbs generally grinding is the best way to get the most of the herb.
Place the dry herb into the vaporizer’s herb chamber using a small scooper.
With a suitable tool or your finger, pack the herb into the herb chamber, ensuring to make the surface flat. Don’t pack too tight, nor too loose, it should allow the air to flow in between the herb granules.
Turn on the device and select your desired temperature.
No, the act of vaping, in itself, does not get users high. It all depends on what substance is put inside the vaporizer. There is a growing trend in vaporizing aromatic kitchen herbs as well as essential oils for the aromatherapy purposes. Aromatic herbs, when vaped, do not give users a high sensation.
Do vaporizers smell when you use them?
Vaporizers themselves do not smell as such, but the herbs you use may omit an odour – though it will not be as strong as the smell produced when smoking.
How old do you have to be to vape in the UK?
The legal age for being able to purchase or use a vape device in the UK is 18 years old.
