What Does Vaping CBD Feel Like?

Reading time - 7 minutes - January 13, 2022

The vaporizer has not only taken over the tobacco industry, but also the cannabis industry, over the last decade. As people have become aware of the dangers and life-altering effects of smoking, they’ve started looking for alternatives. In comes the vaporizer. Vaping cannabis is a healthier, stronger and potentially more exciting way of enjoying weed. However, in the UK, is it legal? Well, whilst THC is still illegal in the UK, vaping CBD is completely and utterly legal. But what is CBD? And what does vaping it feel like? Today we’ll be answering these questions, and letting you know everything you need to know about the vaping CBD experience.

What is Cannabis?

Cannabis is a spectacularly complex plant that deserves recognition. Whilst you may have grown up smoking skunky stuff, the truth is, that cannabis is a hugely varied substance and is far more than the potential bad experiences you’ve had. Weed contains around 400 compounds and around 100 of those are described as cannabinoids. Cannabinoids react with chemical receptors in the body – known as the endocannabinoid system – which affects the brain and body. Some cannabinoids cause a far bigger reaction in the body than others. Each of the 100 cannabinoids has its own effect and aroma, which adds to the identity of the specific cannabis strain. The two most commonly spoken about cannabinoids are THC and CBD. But what are they? And what’s the difference between them?

THC

THC is the cannabinoid responsible for the well-known ‘high’ effect that so many people love about recreational use of weed. The reason why THC has this effect is because it is a psychoactive substance, which means it has mind-altering effects. Any substance in the UK that contains more than 0.2% THC is illegal, and cannot be bought, sold or grown. The UK absolutely detests the idea of anyone using cannabis as a recreational drug. CBD

CBC, on the other hand, doesn’t really have any obvious effects. At least, not similar to that of the ‘high’ of THC. This is because CBD is not a psychoactive substance and, thus, does not have mind-altering effects. However, that’s not to say that CBD has no effects at all. But we’ll get on to that later. CBD is completely legal in the UK, unlike THC. In fact, you can buy CBD online or at most health shops on the highstreet – including the one and only Holland & Barret. But, the important thing to note is that you cannot buy, sell or grow CBD buds in the UK. There’s no really sensical reason for this, but it is just the case. Therefore, if you want to vape CBD buds, you’ll have to purchase it on the dark web or from a street dealer. Or, you can purchase CBD cartridges, edibles and tinctures, capsules or even waxes legally.

What is a Weed Vape??

A weed vaporizer is an electric device that allows the user to heat cannabis cartridges or dry buds and then vape it. The cannabis liquid or buds are heated at a temperature low enough to create vapour, but not high enough to cause unhealthy combustion, and is then inhaled. The two most common weed vapes are the dry herb vaporizer and 510 thread battery vape. But what is the difference?

Dry Herb Vape

The dry herb vape has an oven chamber, which allows you to place dry cannabis buds inside, and then heats them up like an oven. You can also place cannabis concentrates inside too, including wax, shatter, rosin and hash. The dry herb vaporizer is popular for those who prefer purchasing dry bud, or concentrates, and don’t want to deal with cartridges.

510 Thread Battery Vape

The 510 thread battery vape takes liquid cartridges, which are full of a variety of different cannabinoids. Some contain CBD, THC, THCA, CBDA, THCO and many others. As more research is done into cannabis, and more exciting cannabinoids are being discovered, more and more cartridges are being sold – especially in the US. That is why the 510 thread battery is gaining popularity. The vape heats up the cannabis liquid and it turns into vapour, and is then inhaled. Both vapes work similarly, but take different forms of weed.

Is Vaping Legal?

Vaping in the UK is completely legal. In fact, buying weed vapes and 510 thread battery vapes is legal, despite them being used to vape potentially illegal substances. However, of course, it still remains that any substance containing more than 0.2% THC is illegal. Therefore, whilst you can purchase the vape itself, you may find it harder purchasing the stuff you want to put in it. However, CBD products – as long as they aren’t in their bud form – are legal. Therefore you can always vape CBD liquids. But what does it feel like?

Vaping CBD

It’s a common misconception that the effects of CBD are completely non-existent. Many people just dismiss CBD as THC’s pointless cousin. However, this couldn’t be more from the truth. CBD has effects and vaping CBD is definitely an original experience. So what does vaping CBD feel like?

What it feels like

Let’s go through all the effects and sensations that you feel when vaping CBD.

Effects

Whilst CBD is not a psychoactive substance, and does not have the same visceral effects as THC, that’s not to say it has 0 effects at all. In fact, CBD’s effects make it a great health supplement for many users. But also, it’s CBD’s chill-outness that has allowed it to be accepted by the world.

The World Health Organisation stated: “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential…. To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”

Relaxation

CBD is known for its relaxation and chill-out effects, these are probably it’s most well-known results. CBD does trigger chemicals in the brain to release dopamine, which makes people feel good. However, it doesn’t do it enough for it to feel like a buzz or for people to get addicted to. It’s such a slight change that many people would claim not to feel it. However, the feeling of relaxation is undoubtable. In addition, the relaxing effect of CBD has been found to help with insomnia.

Awakeness

Oddly enough, CBD also helps with awakeness and concentration. By allowing your body to feel relaxed, it gives yourself time to rejuvenate and give itself the molecules it needs. This, consequently, gives you a boost of energy. But not the kind of fake energy you get from having a coffee or a red bull. This kind of energy is the same you get after a big glass of water or a nice walk.

Anti-anxiety

Many people use different medications to deal with anxiety. Some use xanax, which will often leave you groggy. Some use harder medications, which again, can leave you numb. CBD is a great example of a substance that can help with anxiety, whilst not wiping you out physically or emotionally.

Preventing Pain

CBD is often used to help with chronic pain. It has been researched and discovered that the substance could help lower pain and inflammation when applied to skin, or even lower inflammation in the brain when consumed.

Addiction

CBD has been found to help prevent addictions. Rather than stimulate the user, CBD counteracts that. If anything, CBD decreases cravings – potentially for many drugs that could be considered harmful. Even cannabis, ironically.

What Does Vaping Feel Like?

Now you have a better understanding of what CBD feels like, perhaps the question remains of what vaping feels like.

Vapour

Vapour is a lot less harsh to inhale than smoke. Therefore, it is consumed without any pain or discomfort in the throat. This is because vapour smoke never passes the temperature of 240 degrees, which is the heat at which combustion occurs. Cigarettes, on the other hand, are lit at 900 degrees. So, as you can see, this is a huge difference.

Healthier

Vaping is healthier than smoking. The toxins and carcinogens that are released during the combustion process are very damaging for all parts of the body. Vapour avoids this, making it a much healthier option.
